Is there ant way to permanently delete email addresses so they don’t ‘pop up’ when I start to type an email recipient when sending an email. I have a number of incorrect addresses that have been mistakenly used in the past and these still pop up when I start to type the correct address. The problem then is I then don’t know which is the correct address and often end up sending the email to the wrong address again. I’ve looked at similar topics, but they don’t’ help.
Thanks
Go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Compose” and you will see the “email address suggestions” part way down, where you can either click “Clear Receipients history” to delete all of them or “Show Recipients” to manually delete specific Recipents.
Thanks cyberzork, Whilst you solution deletes the name from the list, the deleted address still pops up as an suggestion when I start to address an email.
If the email address still appears when you start typing then look to the end of the receipient line on the far right, and if it has a X click that which will then remove that as per @gary post image screenshot from the following thread.
Or if there is no X at the far right of the address, then the address that still appears could be coming from one of your account “Contacts”. See my post link below in the following thread link how to find and delete it from your contacts
Lastly if the address is not in your contacts, then it could also be coming from a previous sent message.
So you can also try “disabling suggestions from your sent messages” as per @gary post image screenshot below from the following thread.
