No way to group email accounts?

Hello, we have just received the email about the Postbox acquisition.

While eMClient looks good, on the face of it, there is one glaring feature omission.

There is no way to group email accounts?

We have over 150 email accounts, that are neatly grouped in Postbox. Nice.

However, not at all possible in eMClient.

Sadly, this is a total dealbreaker for us, and I suspect it will be the same for other Postbox power users.

Is there anything in the eMClient roadmap that will include such an elementary function?

Cheers,

Herby

I really miss this feature too

eM Client displays the accounts in the left sidebar ungrouped, in the order they are in Menu > Accounts.

You can rearrange the order, and “group” them that way, but we don’t do it like in Postbox.

Under each account in the left sidebar, you can “drag any folders or labels up and down” in any order you like.

If you want to make any suggestions for grouping accounts for future, you can go to the following Sleekplan Share ideas and voting page.

Hello, we really don’t have this feature. We’ve seen this request recently with migrating Postbox users to eM Client. You can vote on Sleekplan. We really want to make the transition to eM Client as smooth as possible. I would just not call it a basic feature, I don’t think other clients have it. It is kind of specific feature of Postbox.

Yes, there are several features that Postbox are going to miss.

It would certainly by a good addition to eM Client, be it rare or not.

Thanks!

Have (Had) a lifetime license for postbox. Also, have a lifetime license of emClient. The lack of grouping related email accounts is one of the main reasons I never converted from postbox to emClient for my email client.

emClient feature page expounds on all the cool features that sets emClient apart from others. Now show us PostBox power users, that you can further differentiate emClient by adding some of the useful PostBox features.

emClient purchased PostBox, so use the PostBox acquisition and features from PostBox to enhance emClient and really differentiate emClient from other ordinary email client.

I missing Profiles as in Postbox and Thunderbird basics!
I missing Virtual Folder as in Postbox, Thunderbird, Apples Mail.app basics!

You have to orientate yourself on the frequently used competition, especially Thunderbird (from which Postbox also originates) is a programme you have to orientate yourself on.

What exactly are you missing with virtual folders (we call it search folders)?

That’s exactly what we are planning to do. Gather all the feedback from Postbox users what are they missing and add it to the eM Client (if it is aligned with the basic UX choices).

Since the EOL of Postbox was announced I was looking into EM Client as well.
I also looked into other clients but the one thing that keeps me from leaving Postbox behind is indeed the ‘grouping’ function as other people have mentioned here.

I like the speed of EM Client, Postbox is/was lacking in that regard. If the ‘grouping’ function will be added to EM Client you will have me, and I am sure many others as a new customer as well.

This feature will be included in the next “Postbox oriented” update in a few weeks.

I bought a license for eM Client as well but I’m really missing this feature :frowning:

Hi Michal, it will be after or before Xmas?

Internally it is already implemented, but the release process takes some time. Highly probably it’ll be publicly released in January, as Christmas time is not the best time for releases.

Thank you. Before Xmas it will be a perfect Xmas present…

How can I obtain this update?

@ulissegio

How can I obtain this update?

When new eM Client versions are released publicly, you will find them available on the release history page. So keep watching that.

Well you cannot currently, it is an internal build, that hasn’t passed all the testing procedures. If you are really interested, we can put you in our beta test list and give you access to beta versions of eM Client before they are officially published. But this is not even in beta build yet, but it is already completely functional.

Hi Michal, yes I can be interested in beta testing.
Is it risky? Because I use eM Client for work…

A question about group email account: if I click the “Work” icon, for instance (I am referring to your screenshot), I will see both the [email protected] and [email protected] email list grouped together in a single view (like “All Emails”)?
