if i may jump in I think what many Postbox users are really looking for is a firm, clear promise that the features they loved about Postbox will be integrated into eM Client after the acquisition. After reading the blog post, it seems like there’s little regard for the future of these features, and it almost comes across as a “suck it up” message to users.
What users truly want is reassurance that the unique aspects of Postbox they’ve come to rely on won’t be discarded or overshadowed by eM Client. A more direct commitment to integrating and evolving those features would be a huge relief to those who are still unsure about the future.
A clear promise would help ensure Postbox users feel valued and heard as this transition takes place.
What lead you to the thought that we don’t plan to implement the most wanted Postbox features? In fact, completely the contrary is true. We are gathering feedback, what is the most important things users miss and we are shaping the development road plan according that.
So what is already internally implemented
Suffix, postfix subject and play sound action for rules
Context menu for links in message composer
Account grouping
Directional delete
What we are currently working on and will be (highly probably) available in just a few weeks (ETA is january)
Quick Move, Quick Copy, Quick Switch, Quick Tag
Multitude of customizable one letter shortcuts
Next and previous unread message feature (including one letter shortcut)
Reply with QuickText (similar to responses)
Predefined QuickTexts (we’ll take the content directly from postbox)
Profiles
Periodic invocation of rules
Graphical revamp of rules inspired by Postbox (this one may take a bit more time)
Tags import improvements and fixes
Based on the feedback, these are most wanted feature. We’ll call the update 10.2, but it is almost entirely focused on Postbox community.
We really just need a construictive feedback, so we can prioritize the most important features for Ex-Postboxers.
Yes. I am waiting for whatever the announcement will be of added PostBox features.
It will be bad enough that I’ll have to give up pop accounts.
I’m keeping BetterBird in mind until I see what happens.
@Michal_Burger The blog post talks about the acquisition but fails to clarify how or when Postbox’s features will be integrated. Users are looking for assurance that the unique and valuable aspects of Postbox, which they’ve come to rely on, won’t be lost in the transition. Without any details on this integration, the post comes across as vague and doesn’t really answer the key questions we have about the future of the product.
A clear commitment or roadmap regarding how Postbox’s features will be preserved and enhanced in eM Client would go a long way in easing the concerns of Postbox users. Right now, it feels like the post simply acknowledges the acquisition without addressing what users really want to know.
It would be great to hear more about the specific plans for the integration and how Postbox’s strengths will continue to play a role in the future of eM Client. outside of your post here just now no one would know. maybe update said blog post
Personally, I am not keen on the UX/UI of tags. Just a minor issue that may not be important to the majority.
The text is enclosed in a curvy rectangle at the beginning of the Subject field.
I changed to list view in Email and included the tag column (deleting the category field since they are not useful to me). This took the tag away from the subject field, which is much better for me. However, the text is still enclosed in a curvy rectangle.
My preference would be just to display the text the font of which equals the same in From, Subject etc. I got used to this format in other email programs.
What is the reason to use Gmail with pop? I believe there is a workaround to set Gmail as pop, but I just want to know the reason for that. Pop is really outdated and prevents using most of the modern features.
eM won’t deal with the Auth issue and gmail. BetterBird has no problem with it.
I prefer to work with pop.
If eM adds enough of the features I would like to see, then I might consider giving up pop.
@mspace not to get off topic but oogle prefers IMAP because it aligns with modern, cloud-based, multi-device usage and offers better synchronization and user convenience. POP is an older protocol suited for simpler, less connected workflows. so pop is legecy at this point.
Yes. I know.
If you read what I wrote, I sad I am waiting to see what eM adds from Postbox to decide if giving up pop is worth it.
I prefer it. Legacy and all.
You might want to look at this eM Client announcement page if you haven’t already seen it, which has Postbox features which you can vote on. The more votes, the more likely they will be implemented.
Some of these are “already being implemented” as @Michal_Burger advised further up this thread.
When new updates are available, they will be available via the release history page.
One thing that is a major deal breaker for my elderly family members, is that EM Client is too small for the buttons. I figured out how to enlarge the text size of the folder list and email list, and ctrl and + zoom in the actual email message. But the menu buttons on the top tool bar are way to small.
Postbox had settings for Scale for high dpi displays and could adjust the size of the buttons and overall UI.
Also, EM Client, the email headers in the Reading Plane are way to small, even for my eyes. I can not find a way to increase the size of those.
2 other things EM Client needs to add that Postbox has. (if there is a setting i am missing for these, please let me know)
The thing where you type attach, atachment etc, and it auto detects this and populates a section to drag and drop attachment, and also triggers a warning dialog if u got to send the email without attaching something.
A sound for when u send a message. Postbox woudl alway smake a woosh sound.
A sound for when u send a message. Postbox would alway smake a woosh sound.
I also would like that when sending email.
There is a current Sleekplan request to add sound notification for sending mail where you can add your vote for that and add any comments if you like to that eg: If you want the sending sound when the app is in the foreground or background or both. I would like it both ways.

I am not able to make Postbox doing a sound when sending an email. It does not happen in my Postbox. And I haven’t found a setting for that either. Can you help me with that?
