Hi,
I’ve been using eM Client for well over 5 years or so for business and personal use. I closed my business a couple years ago and removed my business contacts from my Google account (which is synched in eM Client), as well as all other areas in eM Client I can find, based on the research I’ve done in this forum. However, they (as well as many others) still appear in the email address suggestions when creating a new message. I did, following all of the responses to the posts I found in here, uncheck the “Use all recipients from Sent…” and “Store composed mail…”
I applied the settings, closed the windows and tried composing an email again, only to see a slew of contacts I no longer want to see anymore. I did the “clear recipients history” option with the same result. I do still have email correspondence from these people I no longer speak to anymore.
Then, this got me thinking… do those two options in the settings apply ONLY to the recipients going FORWARD after unchecking those check boxes, meaning…if I create a new message today, which then goes in the sent folder, it will NOT add that email address in the suggestion area when creating my next message? Also, since I have the other one below unchecked, it will NOT store that email address?
If the above is the case, then, based on the previous topic responses I already read, there is no other easy way, besides removing (or moving) the messages in the sent folder, which is where these suggestions are still coming from, correct?
Here is one post from another who is having the same issue:
The fix there was to delete the message from the “Sent” folder, which isn’t a good solution if people still need to keep a record of their sent messages.
If that’s the case, this seems to be causing a lot of confusion with me and the other users of Em Client. For those who are tech savvy, is the “suggested” file located in a folder on the PC one can delete so Em Client can start with a fresh and clean “Email Address Suggestion” slate? Or is the only alternative to start from scratch with a fresh database?
Thanks for any assistance someone may have in clearing up this, what seems to be, confusing and unclear matter,
Justin
