Android App - "Calendar, tasks, contacts and notes coming soon" - when is soon

Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing Calendar issues on Android? And Settings… They’re both just blank pages when selected. Works good on iPhone though. Tried both adding account from fresh install, one Gmail and one Exchange as well as importing from exported settings.xml-file.

All my Gmail, Outlook & Yahoo IMAP calendars are displaying fine with the latest Droid app V10.3.1565 using a S22 with OS 14 & UI 6.1.

What I found was some of the calendars and calendar content didn’t initially appear till “much later” after I first added all my accounts due to the app was still synchronising mail and just hadn’t got up to the Calendars or Calendar content.

So could be “you just have to wait longer” and see if your calendars appear. Go to “Menu / Settings / Show Operations” and see if it’s still synching.

Also obviously make sure your various Calendar accounts “are selelected ok” in the app.

Can you please post a screenshot/video of the problem?

Hi @cyberzork, I am a registered beta tester in the Play Store and am still being offered version 10.2.1710. However, you write that you have version 10.3.1565 installed. Did you get it from the Play Store?

@bastele7

Michal posted a link earlier in this thread.

You can sideload it from there. It is working very nicely for me so far.

Thank you

Couldn’t post video here but tried via email.

What email you’ve sent it to?

Didn’t work but here’s the Settings-page and Calendar Week-view…

Installed no problem, imported settings using QR code (great feature), but the feature I was waiting for - calendar with notifications/reminders - does not work for me. I have setup several calendar events with reminders set for “At Start” or “5 min before” or “10 min before”, unfortunately I don’t get any notifications from the calendar. Calendar notifications popup on eM Client for PC, but my phone is silent, nothing shows up on the notifications pull-down, nothing beeps, even no dot on eM Client icon. I get a dot and standard notification if new email arrives, but nothing for calendar events. All notifications are enabled in the Android Settings.

This is something we know it’s missing and we currently work on that. It should be available in the beta in couple of days.

@Michal_Burger The only thing I am not seeing is the ability to create a Task from a message. You have Tasks implemented, but not that crucial part. Will this be coming?

Also, I would love if we could get Quick Actions on mobile.

Thanks for all your effort! Downloaded and installed apk (Android). Looks amazing and works well. Two thoughts:

  1. Email fetching is pretty slow: I have AquaMail installed, which fetches mails from the same accounts. emClient is very slow in comparison. Are speed improvements expected?
  2. The calendar works fine so far, but it would be nice to have somehow a better visual separation of the days in the week/multiple-day view (thin vertical lines?).

Will the new Android beta version announced here once it is accepted by Google?

How long does it take to receive mail ?

Just tested… 6-8 seconds. Aquamail almost instantly once it is open.

Ok I personally wouldn’t call 6-8 secs a problem. Seems acceptable to me.

Every program / app is written differantly and you can never make them exactly the same.

Of course, I agree and I wouldn’t call this a deal killer. Just realized it. Observation, rather than problem.

Do you have push notifications enabled? If yes, emails should by synced in the background and once you open the application, you should see emails instantly as well. You can check that in Settings-> your account → Use push notifications.

We have the Android app approved at last (it took 24 days). We are now waiting with the announcement and pushing the beta to public until the end of Easter to be able to handle all the support.

I have always complained about the slow working of the Android app. I have stopped using eM Client and used another app because of this. Updated version installed today from Google 10.3.1698. This version is definitely super fast. There is a huge change in the overall speed of the app. This must rate as one of the best email clients now on Android. Well done.
