Currently in the process of testing eM Client for myself and then to recommend to all my customers (I run an IT support company).
My main reasons for changing are I don’t like the “new” Outlook app so need something better and eM Client seems to work really well.
I do have one major issue though and that is the lack of calendar, tasks and notes in the Android app. I notice on the website you have been saying “Calendar, tasks, contacts and notes coming soon” for a while now, do we have an ETA on this? as if soon then I will be buying a license imminently!!
Hello, we have all of these already internally implemented, however it’ll take a couple of weeks of testing, bug fixing etc. Hopefully the full release will go out in January. And it is going to be big :).
I hardly can’t wait for this, I love the mobile and desktop app though I really want to have a good integration of tasks preferably integrated in the calendar. The time I was a DJ lays in the past. All I integrate comes through Synology (contacts, tasks and calendar). eM Client was the only satisfying email client for now and I tested a shit load of them, thats why I bought the lifetime version.
For those who haven’t noticed, we are slowly approaching April, and the apps are no where in sight. I’ve been waiting since the 1st of January. So much for “Coming soon.” I’m afraid the people at eM Client have bitten off more than they can chew.
Am no apologist for emclient (God knows there are issues) but the apps have been up and running for quite some time and recently got a much needed update. Am on ios version and is working well.
The apps I’m referring to are the ones for contacts and calendars. I don’t know if they will be integrated in the Android app or will be released as separate apps. At any rate, they are vaporware. I am very happy with the Windows version.
We know it is delayed, we are sorry for that, but it is really a super huge update and we’ve stumbled upon a few issues that took more time than we expected. Now we are really a few days from the beta, all the functionality is basically there, we are just polishing it to make it available publicly.
I installed the iOS Test flight version on our iPad and iPhone and seems to be working ok.
I had to though re-export my desktop tags to the iPad app to then see the same Local Calendar tags and Server Side Calendar tags, but all ok now.
There is two things I found and issue with so far on the iPad, which doesn’t happen on the iPhone.
When I “enable or disable my IMAP Calendar accounts” on the iPad, the mobile app can then sometimes freeze for around 5+ secs, and then also becomes non responsive and then crash back to the iPad OS homepage.
Once the accounts “are selected” and the app closed and reopened it seems fine if I don’t touch that again
Also when you try “switching calendar views”, after pressing a view, a lot of the time the app calendar events will completely disappear (blank) and never come back. Eventually the app will then become non-responsive and crashes back to the iOS homepage.
.
So if I don’t try changing the calendar views it seems ok. But there is some issue at the moment with that.
Otherwise the rest of the app appears very good and stable, and all my Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo IMAP calendar, contacts, tasks etc are all there.
Be good to also test the Android version soon when available.
