Virgin media outgoing emails stuck?

Hello, I use em client with my virgin media account. Suddenly my outgoing emails will not send and just stick in my out box?

Any suggestions?

Sorry for the delay, I wanted to check with a colleague in UK that I know uses Virgin using both POP3 and IMAP with no problems.
First, eMC would probably recommend IMAP, however, this is not mandatory with either eMC or Virgin
As you use POP3
The settings used for POP3 in eMC are:

HOST: smtp.virginmedia.com
PORT: 25
SECURITY: Use SSL/TLS if available
Server requires authentication

I have checked and confirmed these work in eMC using one of my colleague accounts.

I have tried those settings and unfortunately, they don’t work?

A better option for SMTP is port 465 and Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)

Make the change and click on Save & Close. Try send a message. If it doesn’t work, as a test, can you completely disable any anti-virus, firewall, proxy or VPN, then try send again. Sometimes even restarting your router may resolve this.

No, that’s not working either… think I may call Virgin, see what they have to say?

Called Virgin, no help.

I can access the virgin website and send and receive emails there. I can send and receive emails on my mobile phone, however em client on my lap-top will only receive. It will not send an email…

Any more in put would be welcome.

OK… calm has descended. em has started working, both sending and receiving…

However, I’m not quite sure what the problem was and what fixed it. I ended up talking to Virgin also, as I was having issues with thier website…
