Could someone kindly tell me how I can delete unwanted contacts in eM Client free edition latest version in UK.
Could someone kindly tell me how I can delete unwanted contacts in eM Client free edition
Go to the “Contacts section” of eM Client.
![]()
You can then either “right click on the contact” to delete / remove it on the dropdown menu or “select the contact” and delete / remove it on the toolbar along the top.
If it’s a suggested contact that’s automatically appearing in your To: line that you want to delete see this thread for help.
Thanks cyberzork. I think I am in a muddle because I have contacts listed under my two email addresses, each seeming to have their own contact lists. Also there are three or four contact lists headed contacts-other contacts-all contacts etc. Some you can delete in the top toolbar, but in others the delete option does not function. I need to re-organise I think.
The “Other Contacts” folder is Gmail special folder which they create based on your sent messages. While the “All Contacts” and its subfolders have your own saved contacts.
These Other contacts cannot be deleted from 3rd party apps (Google limitation), including eM Client.
You can manage/delete them via https://contacts.google.com/other
To stop Gmail from saving emails into Other contacts automatically you would need to change the settings in Gmail webmail under All Settings - General: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/general
Scroll down to “Create contacts for auto-complete” and change it to “I’ll add contacts myself”

Also if you want to understand where eM Client pulls from for its own auto-suggestion, we have released a blog article on the topic:
We pull from Contacts, Sent emails and Recipients history. The 2 latter options can be customized in Settings - Mail - Compose under Email Address Suggestion.
Thank you Olivia for the further guidance.
