The password is the same password that successfully logs into Titan Webmail.
What happens
The automatic wizard failed, so I completed the account using “Ignore test results.”
The account is successfully created and appears in eM Client.
However:
No IMAP folders (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, etc.) are created.
The synchronisation icon spins.
eM Client then repeatedly requests the account password.
The server returns:
Server says “i.03e68da9 CNBF”
Earlier attempts returned:
Server says “i.9b351ccb CNBF”
The hexadecimal portion changes between attempts while “CNBF” remains the same.
Additional Information
The same Titan account produces similar authentication failures in Thunderbird.
Because the mailbox itself works correctly in Titan Webmail, I suspect the issue relates to IMAP/SMTP authentication or protocol negotiation rather than the mailbox credentials themselves.
Could you please advise whether there is an additional eM Client setting or Titan compatibility setting that should be used with Titan Mail?
Some Email providers, for example t-online (Telekom Germany) require different passwords for login via web-interface and login via client software.
Similar authentication failures for eM client and Thunderbird point in that direction.
eM Client Diagnostics reports “Your credentials were rejected” for both IMAP and SMTP.
The “Fix” function behaves strangely. During the discovery process it displays an “Authentication Required” dialog, but the dialog will not accept any mouse clicks, even though the main eM Client window remains responsive. The dialog can be dismissed with the Esc key.
Do you have any suggestions on what might cause this behaviour, or is this something you have seen before?
Hi Paul,
I am not at all familiar with Titan mail and other services but obviously you have to enable Titan on other apps to grant permission for third-party email clients to access your emails:
