Table editor could use some upgrades

The emClient table editor needs some improvements.

  1. Ability to insert a column or row before or after my current selection
  2. Ability to change the border style
  3. Ability to select a column or row and set style
  4. Improve auto-spacing of empty columns when inserting text
  5. Support for cell padding
  6. Support for undo.

Given that tables are inherent in how we communicate information, having this fixed should be a higher priority.

Thanks
Alan

hah I posted this a few years ago in great frustration  I will +1 you

Yes, I agree. Table editing needs improvement. Mainly formating.

You don’t look in wrong place. I think you only pretend you don’t understand…
There is really a table editor in the eMClinet. You can create a table, fine tune some table parameters. But there is no possibility to change individual cell background color. It is not possible select multiple cells and change font color/size etc. Simly, it needs improvements…

I do not know who you are but I see you are in Prague.
I am prepared to give you the benefit of doubt and accept that you do not
fully understand English, however, what is certain is that you have little or
no comprehension.
You would be well advised NOT to make unfounded accusations - I state
again I do NOT know where the table editor is in eMC.
For the avoidance of any doubt I have language degrees in English, Spanish,
Portuguese & German.
I will accept your apology, if you choose to make one.

@skybat if you right-click on the email page, and select insert, you will see “table” as an item you can insert. Here you will see the table editor. However, my complaint, is that once you insert it, you cannot do table edit actions that you find in other table editors, such as you see in google docs or word. You can actually right-click on the table and change the properties again, it’s very basic though.

If you follow my instructions from the above post you will see where some of the issues are. I think EMclient doesn’t do its own HTML editing, it relies upon an HTML editor component that has table support. There are many out there that are amazing and the table editing is even better than word.

My workaround is that when I need a fancy table for a customer I do it in word or excel first then paste it in. It is incredibly frustrating and there is a possibility of a Undo removing a large amount of text.

Hey @aosman

Thanks for that, I have never had occasion to right click in the
body of a new email, far less insert a table - I know now!

Yes, I can see that could be a problem which is why I did not know there was
a table editor in eMC as if there was ever a need to send a table I always,
as you, created in word, saved as a PDF and sent as an attachment.
