Since latest update, Inbox shows red unread emails?

The +4 means by default means"recent" messages in the new eM Client V10 for messages in the various Category inboxes. You can set in Settings to have either recent or unread in the Categories or you can disable the counter. See the below thread on the subject.

How to remove red new email notice (i.e. +1) on new update

Is there a way to remove the notice showing the new emails in that box since it’s last been opened? The bright red notice is distracting (looks like an error) and prevents me from seeing the total unread messages in that box, since it takes its place, until I click on it again. I get a lot of emails so it’s basically as if they removed the unread email notice completely since I’m always seeing the red notice instead. Thanks, Derek

I don’t know what the blue number means, but another forum member will know that and update this thread.

Ok as you have V10 then that will more than likely be due to your missing emails are going into the new V10 Categories. See my below post in the following link.
