When I type my email address to send myself an email from either of my 2 email addresses, it autofills this scammers email address. It always had this scammer email address on top because it includes my email address in his email address (see below). This happens in either of my email accounts. I already deleted all the contacts in Gmail for general mail and “other contacts” to try to fix this but its still there. I repaired the inboxes. I also completely re-imported both email accounts and its still there.
When I look in the contacts in EM client (Settings > Mail > Compose > Email address suggestion > Show recipients) this scammer email address is not in there anywhere. This is REALLY unsafe because if im not watching carefully it will send my private emails to that scammers address. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 17 emails to EMClient support for and they couldn’t figure it out.
Tried it but there isn’t an option to edit contact when I right click it.
Also you can access the contacts on the bottom left. Just click contacts which is next to mail and calendar. I’ve checked in there to see if that email address is in there. Ive tried for hours to figure this out. emClient’s own customer service are stumped. Literally 17 emails back and forth so far.
I did figure one thing out just now. If I uncheck “use all recipients from email from sent folders for suggestion” under “email address suggestion” in settings/mail/compose, the scammer email address does not come up anymore. So this tells me that the scammer email address is somehow stuck in “sent”. I’ve cleared out the “clear recipients history” several times and that does nothing. I’ve also deleted everything out of “show recipients” as well to no avail.
The really weird part is i’ve checked my “sent” folder in emClient and on gmail.com (I use Gmail) and this scammer address is not there.
I guess this is a workaround but there should be a way to remove this. I don’t feel comfortable knowing there are scammer email addresses stuck in my client and there is no way to remove them.
