Just had to do a clean wipe & re-install of Mac OS Sequoia. I have not been doing regular backups of eM (slapped wrists!) but thought I could just copy my …\Application Support\eM Client folder from my Backblaze backup.
This copied over all my account settings (huzzah! saved a lot of time) BUT my Local Folders and the emails within didn’t appear.
The folder …\Application Support\em Client\ has loads of files in it, and I feel I just need to ‘introduce’ eM Client to it.
I followed some info I found here but failed at step 5 - the folders/emails aren’t there:-
Have I lost them completely? .. and I promise to do proper backups in future!
I had a pretty similar question. The knowledge-base referenced in this post:
says copy all the subfolders, and one of those I see is a “local folders” subfolder tree, so whilst I’ve not done it yet, looks like solution is as you write. Cheers
Yes. Looks like everything is in that one hidden folder - which is great, but I think my backups etc have ‘lost’ the relevant files. I think I’ll just have to live with a few months lost emails (not earth-shatteringly critical - just annoying) and remember to do regular backups properly!
I do have Time Machine but have set myself up with a different name (for reasons…). If I had kept the same account name I think I would have been able to recover it from that.
