Problem after update to 10.3.2040.0 -> right Alt + n

After the update to the latest version, when trying to write a Polish character using right Alt + n when creating a new message, a new message window opens.
Is it somehow possible to get rid of this keyboard shortcut from the new window? It is not in the settings.

You could then maybe “reassign” the keyboard shortcut in Settings. See online documentation.

To reassign, click on the shortcut and then at the bottom of the shortcuts, “click at the end of the field on the right” to remove the current shortcut.

  • I have the same problem - in Settinngs new window action is connected with ctrl+alt+n - changing to different combination doesn’t change the emclient behaviour. Still after trying to put polish “ń” a new window is opening.

Wydaje mi się, że wersja 10.3.240 zostałą wycofana, bo na innych licencjach nie ma tego update, na szczęście!

Listen, it’s impossible to work like this. I’m one step away from ditching this junk and replacing it with something that doesn’t push out such garbage in the name of an update.

We are sorry for this inconvenience, but we are aware of this issue and looking for a fix - the issue is unfortunately most likely connected to different fixes for shortcuts we made for other languages.

Until a patch is ready you can uninstall this version (keep database with your data) and install a previous version of eM Client 10.3, all files are available on our website: Release History | eM Client

Another workaround would be to change the shortcut for New Item in Menu>Settings>General>Shortcuts in the meantime.
If you change this shortcut to anything else but the default Ctrl+Alt+N you should be able to type Ĺ„ again.
You replace a shortcut by selecting it in the list and pressing a different combination of keys you want to use, and then save the settings.

No tylko mały bug, wrzuć starszą wersję, zmień skrót, w końcu to naprawią. A lepszego klienta i tak nie znajdziesz, wiem, bo pracuję w IT ponad 20 lat.

Hello, we are sorry for the inconvenience. It happens only for the polish localization, that’s why it slipped through our testing. Here is a version with the quick fix:

Windows
https://www.emclient.com/dist/v10.3.2097/setup.msi

Mac
https://www.emclient.com/dist/v10.3.2097_Mac/setup.pkg

More permanent solution will be released in the beginning of the next week.

Reassigning the shortcut does nothing. The bug is also affecting the English localization, btw, if you use the International Keyboard configuration in Windows. In this localization, the shortcut has nothing to do with the key combination that triggers the erroneous response. The key combination that has been mistakenly assigned in eM Client is Right Alt + N, which is not one of the shortcut combinations in the client.

Thank you for bringing up that a similar issue happens with another language setting - have you tried the quick fix in version 10.3.2097 mentioned above?
If the problem keeps happening even with that version we’ll of course look into it as well.

There is even newer version with slightly better fix available here:
