Confused about acknowledged bug in shortcuts after 10.3.2040

According to this post: and this other one:, there is a bug affecting the Polish localization of the client only.

I use the International Keyboard configuration in Windows with the English localization (this has always worked perfectly with eM Client). Said configuration allows me to type the Spanish ñ and Ñ characters by pressing the right-hand-side Alt key, together with the letter N key (in either regular or shifted mode). This behavior is affected, in my case, in the same manner than the Polish users have reported for their localization. I also get a new message window when I try to type an ñ by using the Right Alt + N keys.

One of your suggestions to remedy the bug instructs us to change the “New Item” shortcut, which involves the keys Ctrl + N in my localization. I did this, and it had zero effect on the buggy behavior. (NB: I also changed the other shortcuts involving the letter N. None of these changes altered the behavior of the client, which seems to be hard-wired. Pressing right-hand Alt + N still opens a new message window.)

This is tremendously inconvenient, since my work requires me to correspond multilingually (English, Spanish, Italian, Catalán, all of which used to be perfectly possible with my setup). Please inform us when the solution for this will be released.

Thanks a lot for your attention to this issue.

It’s not that the Polish localization is the only one that CAN be affected, it’s that Polish users were the only ones reporting this specific issue.

Have you tried the quick fix version? Does the same solution work for your keyboard setting?
Windows
https://www.emclient.com/dist/v10.3.2097/setup.msi
Mac
https://www.emclient.com/dist/v10.3.2097_Mac/setup.pkg

The problematic shortcut that needs to be changed is not Ctrl+N, but Ctrl + Alt + N, which is also for new items (for all day events and lists). Did you change that one as well?

Thanks for clearing up the confusion. I can report I installed the 10.3.2097 (I didn’t realize, until I downloaded it, that it was NOT an earlier version, but a hotfix–with a higher version number–instead). This fixed the issue.

Very appreciated. I can work again! :slightly_smiling_face:

There is also now an updated version 10.3.2412 “with this an other fixes as well” just being pushed out to the clients if you haven’t got it already, which you can also download via the release history page.

Note: Before updating make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. Also close eM Client before updating.
