NonJunk tag keeps appearing automatically – “Hide tags” rule does not work

Hello,

I am having a persistent issue with the “NonJunk” tag in eM Client.

The NonJunk tag is automatically displayed on newly received messages. I manually removed the tag from existing messages, but it appears again on new incoming messages.

I have already tried the suggested workaround:

Rule: After message has been received → Hide tags → NonJunk

The rule is enabled and applies to all accounts. However, I tested it with a newly received message and the NonJunk tag still appears.

I also checked the raw message headers. The NonJunk tag is not present in the message headers, so it appears to be an IMAP keyword/flag that eM Client is displaying.

Is there a way to permanently prevent eM Client from displaying the NonJunk tag, without hiding or affecting my other tags?

Thank you.

Sounds like it’s the adaptive Junk filter causing it from either Thunderbird or another Mail client based on Thunderbird as @Olivia_Rust advised in her post below in the following thread and what you can do to remove the non junk tag.

By any chance is the mailbox shared because I have this issue only in shared mailboxes where other users sync using Thunderbird.

So as you have other Thunderbird users, sounds like that adaptive junk filter feature will need to be disabled their end to stop the non junk tag.

Alternatively they could install and use eM Client to avoid that issue

I have already disabled “Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account” in Thunderbird on all computers where this IMAP account is configured.

I then tested again with newly received messages, but the NonJunk tag is still being added and displayed in eM Client.

I also tried the eM Client rule:
After message has been received → Hide tags → NonJunk

The rule is enabled and applies to all accounts, but it does not hide the NonJunk tag.

Is there another way to prevent eM Client from displaying this IMAP tag?
