I get invoices from people who use a popular invoicing platform called ‘Xero’
When they send me an invoice via the platform, it’s sent from “[email protected]”.
Emclient has bound this address to a previous client who used xero, so if five people send me an invoice, in the message list i see five messages all from Ricki Andrews with an invoice!
The message body however does contain the right details.
If i go to Tools / Contacts and paste [email protected], Ricki’s name comes up.
When i right click to delete the “[email protected]” entry, it says “Unable to remove the item, because the account is read only”.
Is there another method?
Please advise how i can solve this?
I’m using EmClient V 10.0.3530 (f0b89b7) on an M2 MacBook Pro.
It’s possible this item is in a Gmail or Google Workspace account “Other Contacts” folder, which is read-only. If that is so, you can only delete it in the Google Contacts web page.
Yes, you are correct. Thank you.
I’ve now deleted it from gmail contacts, see what happens this week as more come through.
The other option is to simply delete all the invoices, but that won’t end well for me
When you interact with people in Google services, the server automatically saves their information in your “Other Contacts” so they might come back again. However, you can disable this function in your Google account settings:
There’s also a way to prevent eM Client syncing the Other Contacts folder, but you need to do that when you first add the account to eM Client. Just don’t tick the option in the permissions:
