Hello, I’m experiencing an issue with em-client. When I add a contact via iCloud on my iPhone, it initially appears in em-client without any problems. However, when I try to edit the contact in em-client (like adding a photo), it doesn’t sync back to iCloud, and I receive an error message in em-client saying, “Upload of element failed,” with the server response being “forbidden,” and the target folder is “icloud/contacts.” I’m then presented with only two options, which are to either ignore the error or delete the contact. Is there a workaround or a different approach I can take to edit iCloud contacts in em-client without encountering this issue? Thanks!
Unfortunately this is a server error, which you will need to ask iCloud for assistance with.
Essentially the server allows you to access the folder, then immediately it says you can’t do that. They will need to fix it for you.
Thanks for the super-fast reply! I really appreciate it. Is this something I’m (or some) dealing with alone, or do all iCloud users run into this server issue?
It’s quite rare so certainly doesn’t affect all iCloud users.
I have this error all the time.
I setup my ICloud-Account with an App-specific password. Mail works fine, Contacts are downloaded from the server, but changes are impossible because upload is impossible.
I thought I had made a mistake when setting up. That’s why I deleted my account and started over again.
Unfortunately, the error occurs again.
emClient Version @ MacOS: 10.0.3530 (f0b89b7)
I am a new user with exactly the same problem, which it seems many people have. Unfortunate as I have bene liking the program.
I think the forum is being ignored by the manufacturer or he doesn’t care about the problems.
I get annoyed by this bug every day.
Seems like it’s pretty common…I’ve seen it on Forums going back over the years.
