I should have stayed with v9.
So far v10 is slow to sync. Attachments take forever to save and/or open.
I found 10.4.5298 a little faster for me.

Attachments for me personally “open almost instantly for me” using the latest V10.4.5298 on non gamer pcs using Windows 11 with i7 cpu & Mac OS 26.4 M1 cpu with ssd drives and 16GB ram each.
It probably just slow to open attachments initially because the attachments “haven’t been all fully cached locally” via the download scope option.
So you can speed up messages reading and opening attachments by enabling to “download full messages offline including attachments” as in the below V10 IMAP acct example. It will use more mail database space but usually fixes that issue.
Note: Once you enable that option “it can take time till the messages and all attachments are fully cached” depending on the size of your mailbox.
Lastly if you already have set to automatically download messages and attachments offline in the Download Scope, and there is no messages or attachments still synching in “Show Operations” via the dropdown on the right of Refresh, “if it’s only PDF files slow to open” with Adobe Acrobat Reader, then see the following thread on that where there is a fix for that “at the end of the thread”
