Need more information.

Do you get an error message when you send ?

If you don’t see any sending errors, click the drop-down on the right of Refresh top left and click Show Operations. Then click the Log tab and look for any obvious error messages and paste them in this thread. Blank out anything personal.

Also did you setup your Outlook account using the automatic account wizard or manual setup ?

Also what is your SMTP server address, port & security policy ?

Also what version of eM Client are you using and do you have Windows or Mac & OS version ?

When I click send, I get the message: “No account configured, you must first add an account to send messages.”

There are no errors in the log. There are only prompts about correct folder synchronization.

I used automatic email configuration. All folders are synchronized.

Account settings in the eM Client application:
Server: Host: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 587
Security policy: Force the use of SSL/TLS protocol
There are no more settings.

eM Client version 10.1.4588 windows 10

When I click send, I get the message: “No account configured, you must first add an account to send messages.”

Could be you then don’t have “AirSync” enabled in your Outlook setup.

Go to “Menu / Accounts” and click the “General Tab” and make sure you have “AirSync” enabled. If its not check that and save and close accounts.

Thanks for this suggestion.

But what if I have 6 aliases on the same account? This setting only works for the main email address, what about the other aliases?

So this is not a solution for me. :frowning:

The same setting with normally still allow any Alias email address (connected to that same account) to send mail.

However some mail servers require alias email addresses to be eg: linked online to allow the alias email address to send depending on the account type. So check with your mailbox technical support if you need to do anything.

See my post link in the following page on setting up Alias identifies for sending mail.

So once setup, you just select the alias email address in eM Client from the dropdown at the top in the compose window as in the below example Alias example setup and send mail.

Hello.

I have already tried this solution before, after searching this forum. It is only a half-way solution.

I have created several aliases and added them to eM Client and enabled “AirSync”.
Only in my case there is a small difference: all aliases are created on one account, on one server and in one domain, and they are not other emails attached as aliases as shown in the screenshots.

You can choose what the sender and recipient should be.
Even after selecting the appropriate sender (…outlook.com), it is always sent from the primary address (…live.com) despite selecting an alias as the sender.

Using the new Outlook email program everything works as it should, ONLY the interface is unacceptable. That is why I use eM Client  .

When I send with an Alias email address connected to a Live.com account, eM Client "does show for me (in the Sent Box the Alias email address as the Senders email address) as per the below V10 example, where i added one of my own @outlook.com address’s as an alias to my @Live.com account and then sent an email using that to my @Yahoo.com account.

Note:- The receiver will still see your Primary Live.com address (as is your Physical Mailbox address online), but “when they Reply to your email”, (it will show as your Alias email address) as in the 4th & 5th Screenshots below when i replied to the sent email in my Yahoo.com account.

(Replied to the above sent email in my Yahoo email account, which shows the alias email address)

(Received email in my eM Client V10 Inbox which shows the alias email address in the recipient)

For me this is unacceptable, it is a bit strange and misleading solution. I am supposedly sending from an alias, but the recipient is displayed with an address other than the alias.

When I send from a given alias, I want the recipient to receive such an alias.

I am supposedly sending from an alias, but the recipient is displayed with an address other than the alias.

Some online mailboxes have options to “hide your primary email address when you send from an alias email address”. So suggest to contact your mailbox provider and see if that’s possible.

The only other way I know to avoid that in eM Client, would be to change your Primary email address in the “Accounts / General tab” to be your Alias email address, but that would mean you would have to change that all the time for each alias before sending your email.
