How to add only tasks from backup

Hello, can I get assistance in how to add just tasks, to the tasks section in em Client, from a backup? Is there a specific file that needs to be copied and if so, where is it found and where is it to be pasted to?

Is thee a file that holds the “tasks”? I just want to add tasks from a previous backup.

There is no documentation on manually just extracting tasks on this free community forum. You carn’t normally just copy parts of the backup.zip hidden database directly into another database as you could risk possibly corrupting the entire database doing that.

You can however do a partial restore from a backup.zip or hidden database folder “to then manually extract / copy your tasks out of that” to then incorporate into another database as in my partial restore mail example post. Or see this offical eM Client blog where part way down it also explains how to do Partial restores.

Apart from that if there is a way to just manually copy the tasks part of the database directly to another database without doing a partial restore, then you would need to contact Offical support.

So if you have a current active paid Pro, Personal or Business version, go to the VIP support page and login and lodge a support ticket for assistance.

The files in “C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\eM Client” folder have the files for tasks (just don’t know which one), as I’ve copied and pasted (replaced the existing ones in the folder) the saved ones which I appear in this folder after backup, and the old tasks appear.

What I might have to do is go trial and error by just copying and replacing each file one by one and see which one holds the tasks. Can’t think of anything else as have searched online and found nothing about this.

I have the free personal version of em Client so don’t know if staff will help me with this?
