Grammarly integration with EM Client

I have Grammarly, which does not seem to be reworking in EM Client. Is Grammarly compatible with EM Client?

It should work just fine. Are you using windows or mac?

eM Client’s text fields follow the standards that should make it available to use for external apps that need to work in text fields, such as the Grammarly desktop app.
So eM Client should be available to use with Grammarly, at least from our side we tried to follow all the required prerequisities.

There was a time when Grammarly blocked eM Client intentionally, and then resolved the issues on their side and started working again.
If it stopped working again, I’d recommend reporting this to Grammarly as nothing has changed from our side.
If we can help with any issues Grammarly encountered with our app, we are happy to again offer our cooperation to them directly at [email protected]

Windows,
I use Grammarly daily, and it works in Google Docs and several other 3rd party apps.
It even works in this reply as I type it.

May I get support on how to resolve it? Is the problem on my end?
The problem could be that I need to re-install? should I do that?

Hello,

I noticed your app has a popup with the word tab. Does this turn on Grammarly support because I am now seeing Grammarly working?

It has stopped working again. Any idea how to fix it? The Grammarly icon is at the bottom, but does not load when clicked on.

Having the same issue here. Grammarly has stopped working with EM Client. Please address. Thank you.

I guess I will have to move on. They don’t seem to care about long time clients. At least figure out how to allow LanguageTool. It’s absurd, we are stuck using the internal spell checker that has no clue.

I just found out the native Outlook in Windows 11 fully supports Google now. It’s free, syncs with everything and my grammar checkers work like a charm. So since no answer is going to be given by this company I guess after all these years I’m leaving.

As a recent purchaser of eM Client I find out that neither Grammarly no Language Tool works in eM Client. Language Tool at least has an extension for my other email client Thunderbird. SIGH

If Grammarly is either not working or has stopped working, you need to contact Grammarly and they can contact eM Client directly as @Olivia_Rust advised further up this thread.

Quote extract from Olivia:- “If we can help with any issues Grammarly encountered with our app, we are happy to again offer our cooperation to them directly at [email protected]”

There is also a current Sleekplan suggestion to add Language Tool Grammar checker below which you can vote for.

I have been using Language Tool for over a year but it does not work in eM Client only Outlook and Thunderbird. Language Tool is also discontinuing their free version and going strictly paid.

I have reverted back to Thunderbird for my default email client as I have come to rely on more than a spell checker for my emails.

Another Sigh.

ProWritingAid works - if that helps anyone (Windows 11 Pro and latest eM Client version).

Now, neither Grammarly nor Prowriting aid are perfect, and when I last compared the two, Grammarly was better, but since I have a lifetime licence for Prowriting aid that’s what I teste with right away, and am posting this if it helps anyone.

My in detail experience though it’s not very recent so take it with a grain of salt (it wasn’t good for writing long Wordpress articles in Wordpress’ backend):

Thanks for the suggestion.

However being in Canada one has to add roughly a 40% exchange rate on to USD prices so ProWriting even the premium model is pricey for my needs. I do not think I have ever seen a software vendor with a 3 day money back guarantee like ProWriting does.

That price is steep, and the 3-day money back window was hopefully just a typing error (worth checking - never underestimate human error  ) - I would expect at least a 30-day if not a 3-month money back window.

Not that I would recommend either of those softwares - my last test found both a bit lacking - especially considering how ChatGPT now works with English grammar and spelling - super-productive.

But I can confirm that it works with Em Client.

As I indicated I found no issue with Language Tool and it is $89 regularly cheaper that Grammarly and ProWriting Aid but I have a discount probably for the first year. However LT does not work in eM Client.

Sorry to say, but I am seriously thinking of going back to using Thunderbird as it has capabilities that eM Client is lacking but which I only found out after I purchased eM Client and used it more.

Yes eM Client currently uses ChatGPT with AI where there is eM Client users who say the Grammar checking works really well with that.

So maybe @pcguy you could give that a try instead of Language Tool. You can get it as a monthly add on if you don’t have it already with your version. Buy AI Add-on for eM Client | eM Client .Then enable it via “Menu / Settings (Preferances) / Mail / Artificial Inteligence” checkbox.

Just got a reply from Grammarly re not working in eM Client

"Thank you for reaching out! We appreciate your patience as we work through a large volume of requests.

My name is Jackie, I’m with the Technical Support team, and I’m happy to answer this for you.

Unfortunately, Grammarly doesn’t currently support integration with eM Client, but thank you for letting us know that this is something you’d like to see!"

@cyberzork appreciate your help here in the forums and in this topic, but I am going to have to draw a line in the sand here. Having to spend what amounts to $4.20 CAD a month on something that will only work in eM Client to allow grammar and better spell checking is not for me.

I already have a subscription to Perplexity and that is enough paid AI for me. I do not want AI to formulate a response, I simply want something to correct the grammar in my own verbiage. Furthermore, I am at an age that I do not want nor need AI to respond to people. I can still think for myself.

@Olivia_Rust Grammarly does not work so I raised a support

"Thank you for sharing this additional information.

We haven’t interacted with eMClient since blocking it for Grammarly for Windows in late 2023, and we’re not aware of any issues resolved on our end with this email client.

However, I have forwarded this information to our engineering team so they may review our integration with this application. This would allow them to re-assess the need to prevent Grammarly for Windows from initializing in eMClient. I will get back to you as soon as I have more information to share.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,
Wiktor"
