emClient fails daily

Most mornings I arrve at my computer to find that emClient has died over night. I dutifully restart it with my email address in the box; hoping that this will be the day I get an answer.

Are others getting this and is there a cure?

You need to allways exit / close eM Client before the OS shuts down or you will usually get database checking on startup as the database is still open in memory. This can happen if eg: Laptops run out of battery power overnight and the database is left open so eM Client will then check on startup.

If you are already exiting / closing eM Client before the OS shuts down, then you might have an actual database corruption and may need to create a new database by “closing eM Client” and then “renaming the current hidden database folder” to eg: eM Client-old and then reopen eM Client and setting up new.

(Windows hidden eM Client database folder)
“Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\eM Client”

(Mac Hidden hidden eM Client database folder)
“Users\yourusername\Library\Application Support\eM Client”

If creating a new database then fixes the problem, you can then restore your mail from your old database” via either the hidden database folder or from a backup as per my post in the following thread link below.

Or see eM Client support page blog on Partial Restore “part way down the following page”.

I am closing emClient now before I go to bed. I never turn off the PC tower. It gets re-booted when I apply updates.

Will see how things go this week.
