Technically, only the message that is still in the inbox should be archived, not the entire conversation.
For me thatās definitely a reason not to use eM Client.
Any changes here?
Hey! Iām sorry we donāt offer greater customization in this regard at the moment. There is another Sleekplan suggestion addressing this, so please definitely add your vote if this feature is essential to you:

The platform really is a very useful, quick indicator of how popular certain request are since we do need to prioritize what we focus on in development ![]()
Itās a shame that such comprehensive software fails at the basics. Almost ALL email clients have this behavior by default.
Itās a āis it better than New Outlook measureā really⦠But yes, they coded a lot of things that make no sense or that werenāt actually beta/alpha tested prior to production⦠but⦠like I said⦠itās still better than what Microsoft has slammed down our throats with no spit, even if only by a little.
why do I have to have another account to do anything with this? Canāt it use some sort of SSO so I donāt have to create yet another account for the same thing?
I came up with a good analogy for how weird it is that eMClient moves sent mails into the archive folder.
Imagine you have a mail thread:
- Someone wrote to you
- you replied
Now if I go back to that thread before they reply again, because I forgot to add something, and hit the reply shortcut - the last mail in the thread is from me so you could argue that the reply should go to me - but obviously no one would ever expect this behaviour.
I actually came across a client that did this exact thing and immediately ruled it out from my list of options ![]()
Anyway, after much testing, Iāve landed on Spark Mail and am very happy with it. Archiving a conversation there leaves my sent mails in the sent folder.
