Don't automatically open emails, please!

My setup:

“Emails do not open automatically on my eMC setup”: I think your emails are accidentally opened and marked as read even faster than mine (0 vs 1 second). Try opening the Junk folder and the app will automatically open and mark the first junk email without your consent.

“In order to mark a message as read, with 1 click, just click the “Dot””: no need to be so complicated (1000 emails = 1000 clicks to mark as read). In normal usage:

1. the email should be automatically marked as read when the user opens it
2. the email should remain unread before the the user opens it

First email of folder automatically opening

Hi,      I have my eM client layout set to “messages on the right.” When I click on any folder such as inbox or drafts, it automatically opens the first email in that folder. How can I prevent this from happening? I want to go to my inbox and see my emails without it opening the first email on the right side of the screen, but I don’t want to change my layout. Please let me know if there is a way to do this.
