Create temporary alias with Ctrl-Shift-N in compose window

The release notes for 10.1.4588.0 includes the following new feature:

  • Added option to create temporary alias with Ctrl-Shift-N in compose window

This sounds like it’s now possible to manually type the from address instead of having to select from one of the predefined account addresses. But when I do a Ctrl-Shift-N in the compose window, nothing happens.

That is this new feature and how does it work?

In the compose window in the account dropdown, highlight the account it will be sent through, and use Ctrl + Shift + N

Wow thanks that works, thanks! But why did the UI designer make it so unintuitive? Simply adding a button to edit the already selected option would have been so much better :roll_eyes:

Anyway glad we finally have this feature, it’s been sorely missing.

any hints how to activate it on a mac? ctrl-shift-n does not work.
I have Version 10.1.4588 (f11e2ab)

Once you have picked the account you want to send from, go to the menu bar at the top of the screen, pick Message, then Reply-to address, then Custom. A window will pop up letting you enter any address.
