Create temporary alias with Ctrl-Shift-N in compose window Mail

The release notes for 10.1.4588.0 includes the following new feature: Added option to create temporary alias with Ctrl-Shift-N in compose window This sounds like it’s now possible to manually type the from address instead of having to select from one of the predefined account addresses. But when I do a Ctrl-Shift-N in the compose window, nothing happens. That is this new feature and how does it work?
