Is there a way for me, as a user, to simply say “No thanks, do nothing with calendar invites or anything calendar-related”?
I already have a working calendar setup, and the way eM Client interferes with incoming emails that include calendar invites just causes unnecessary problems.
Also, why can’t I choose what happens when I open a .ics (calendar) file? eM Client overrides the system default and opens its own calendar dialog instead. This forces me to save the file to disk and manually open it through a file browser just to use my preferred app. Why not just respect that some users don’t want to use the calendar feature in eM Client?
All I want is a solid, reliable email client—nothing more.
Also a frustrating thing is that invites from Microsoft user has no .cal file attached so I cant even save that to disk to open later. Then i need to go to gmail on the web where the file and invite is properly handled. So, it clearly can be done, emClient just does not handle Microsoft invites correctly.

There is a Sleekplan suggestion to be able the add Calendar.ics invitations “directly to the Mac OS Calendar” when you receive them in eM Client which you can vote for below
There is a way you can currently add them to the Apple iCal when you get a .ics Calendar invite as @asn advised in his post below on that topic.

I don’t have that issue from other friends Microsoft Outlook or Gmail Calendar invitations, so could be your senders Calendar just eg: dont provide the cal .ics file when the invitations are sent to you.
