I just installed Em client for the first time on Mac OS. I have been trying to add my Yahoo Mail account but the setup keeps failing at the last step.
I already have app passwords setup, but I can’t enter any password on the screen here. Closing cancels the setup.

we apologize for the trouble, over the weekend our OAuth registration at the Yahoo Developer Portal experienced some issues and our oAuth access for Mail, Contatcs and Calendar is not working.
We have contacted Yahoo Developer support to get it back up soon.
In the meantime, the only way to set up a Yahoo account is manually via the Mail>Other option so you can insert a password directly (app password) instead of being taken to the oAuth login.

I think I have the same problem as Sam. I recently changed my Yahoo password. But in em v8 I cannot find anywhere a tab with authentification details, such as my Yahoo password to update. There seems to be no place to enter or edit.

unfortunately, the resolution depends completely on the Yahoo support here, who did not fix the issue yet and we have no way of knowing when they decide to fix it.
In the meantime, the only way around is to set up your account manually, as mentioned in my original reply.

that means you originall set up your account with oAuth login, which is the safe, correct way to do it. But this login is now broken and we need to wait for Yahoo to fix it.
In the meantime, the only way to use your Yahoo account in eM Client is to go to Menu>Accounts, Add Account, and instead od Automatic setup use MAIL>OTHER

@ziamehmood & @samK according to the Yahoo website these are the manual IMAP or POP settings to be entered via EMClient Account via the “Other” option as Olivia advised. Good luck 
IMAP is the best way to connect your Yahoo Mail account to a desktop mail client or mobile app. It allows 2-way syncing, which means everything you do remotely is reflected in your Yahoo Mail account no matter where or how you access it. Here are the settings you’ll need to configure your mail client or app.
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server
Your login info
POP (Post Office Protocol) is one way to get Yahoo Mail in a desktop or mobile app. POP downloads copies of your email, so you can move and delete them in the app without affecting the original emails.

In case anyone gets confused because email clients and providers all use different terminology for SSL and TLS, these are the combinations to use when manually setting up an account in eM Client:
SMTP
Port 587 = Force usage of SSL/TLS
Port 25 = Use SSL/TLS if available
Port 465 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
IMAP
Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 143 = Use SSL/TLS if available
So for that one, you want to select the security policy Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)

I appreciate your suggestions. However, I have not yet had success.
My smtp test fails. My imap test just repeatedly requests credentials, then rejects. I am using the correct new password.
Beyond frustrated … this should not be 3 weeks to resolve.

Did you upgrade your version of eM Client to the version that includes the Yahoo! fix?
What version are you now using? (Menu > Help > About)
I have had no communication telling me there is a fix. No I have not upgraded in the last 3 weeks.

I have found that the password required is different than what I expected. My ‘normal’ Yahoo password is not one needed apparently - though that is not made very clear in pop-ups. I had to generate a password, which was not necessary when I first downloaded and started using emClient.
I have had IMAP success, but still not SMTP success.

Well, I have downloaded the fix for v8. It now gets me to a password enter pop-up from Yahoo.
But I always get password incorrect. I have tried both my Yahoo password, and the app password I generated.
I still have the manual set-up acct in emClient, since I dont have the auto acct working yet. Is the app password from Yahoo only good for one acct?
I could live with using my manual set-up acct. But it doesnt have the Calendar. Is there a way to add that? I dont recall selecting only mail from the set-up.

When you use the Automatic Setup, it should add email, calendars and contacts. If you setup the account manually, then only email will be there. You can add the calendar as a separate account.
What I would suggest though, to overcome all the issues, and have the calendar setup with the email account, is to remove your Yahoo! account from eM Client, then set it up again using the Automatic Setup.
I don’t use Yahoo! but I believe you need a separate app password for each account. Maybe a Yahoo! user can confirm that.
