Black Friday sale this year (2024)?

According to the post below, there is supposed to be a yearly black friday sale. Is this still a thing? and if it is, when will it be available?

Yes, our Black Friday sale will begin next week. You can watch the blog for updates, as it will be announced there.

Did I miss it? There was no announcement yet?!?

I have not seen it yet and I will check back every day. While I will purchase eM Client Onetime Payment version, when I saw this forum thread I hit the brakes and will be waiting for a sale. I have until Oct 2025 before my Outlook hits EOL and eM Client is so far the only email program that even comes close to the features I want. If I could purchase Outlook on it’s own, I would. Almost 20 years of use at work and home, now retiring and I really want to continue to use it at home but it is so expensive.

Just purchased mine! Activation was a breeze as well. And $29.97 USD for the Personal One-Time version. I wish the “Lifetime Upgrades” also had the 50% discount as well, I would have purchased that as well but that checkbox is at full price ($90.00 USD) unfortunately :disappointed_relieved:

Totally agree with JoeSchmuckatelli.
I was also waiting for the BF deal, but without the Lifetime Upgrades which makes it so interesting and which is also the biggest price component, I find it a disappointing deal. Without the Lifetime Upgrades you still have to pay for every new version. This is not even close to a 50% discount! Too bad…

So the black friday deal is the same for everyone 50% as the “special offer” given to postbox members? This is a terrible deal for postbox members. The two offers don’t even stack.

I was going to consider purchasing your product but very disappointing that this is how we are treated

To boot postbox included lifetime updates and many people purchased right before the “free” cutoff period which wasn’t even that long. I think there should be a better offer for those of us who had the misfortune of being aquired by your company :frowning:

In 2021 the discount was for Lifetime Upgrade. In 2024 no upgrade from Pro to Personal version, no discount for Lifetime Upgrade. Only bad news from EmClient

I was planning to buy eM Client with Lifetime Upgrades because I have four accounts and the Free version only supports two. Since there is no BF deal for the Lifetime Upgrades I have decided to keep using the Free version for my two main accounts and use the two least used accounts with Thunderbird or webmail.

Hi Gary. What about discount if you want to upgrade to ver 10 with option for a lifetime license? No offer for this?

The Black Friday sale doesn’t include upgrades. Sorry.

As the blog page says: The discount for Business license applies to max. 10 devices. Discount cannot be used for version or Lifetime Upgrades, Ai Add‑on or VIP Support for one‑time fee licenses. These services are already included in Subscription licenses.

No it wasn’t, it’s simply not true. We just can’t give major discounts to Lifetime upgrades option, as there are continuous per user costs which we can’t bear in long term.

Instead of the discount, I will now continue using the Free version, which will get all the major updates. This means even more revenue is lost. Smart move.

What about offering a better discount on the base plan for people who actually have Postbox. Regardless of what other people are asking for, I think the people most burned in this situation are postbox users who just recently purchased postbox (anyone who bought it in the last 2 years). The 100% discount offer is only available to a tiny segment of those users (less than 1% probably), where as most (99% of users) will only get 50% off which is the same offer as the current Black Friday discount. I think to call it an “exclusive discount” is a bit disingenuous considering those facts.

If you guys were hoping to convert some of us, then at least come with a honest good faith offer.

While I do understand the company position, to my tiny brain it just does not make sense to not offer the lifetime discount to the little people, some of which may be in the IT purchase line. I no longer am that person, however 4 years ago I was that person, and with a company size of almost 10,000 people, it can make a huge impact even if we use a small sample of 3,000 (the group I was involved in). I’m not saying that my company would have gone down this route, they are well entrenched with MS Office and I don’t see them departing ways anytime soon.

The point is, you do not get rich from a handful of people using your software for home use, however corporate use is where the big money is. I would not expect a Lifetime Updates purchase from any company, they are all about subscriptions these days. As an individual, I despise subscriptions for a products like this. MS 365 is subscription, I’m not paying that. Antivirus protection is the only item I can understand paying a subscription for.

Of course, I do not have your sales figures, maybe you do make more money via the individual purchases.

I am happy there was a 50% cut in the initial price, without that I would not have purchased this product, I took advantage of it, but when it said 50%, I expected of the total price. eh, I’m good but if you folks change your mind, I’m very willing to spend 50% ($45 USD) for the Lifetime upgrade, even 40% discount ($54 USD).

I am getting use to eM Client and I’m certain it will take a few months to grasp the nuances, and it does appear to be worth the price. Being limited to two email accounts sucked, but now I can access all 5 of my accounts, and I can add more if I really wanted to, but I don’t.

Thanks for the product, hope the Outlook Exchange problems get sorted out soon.

@JoeSchmuckatelli

it just does not make sense to not offer the lifetime discount to the little people.

I as a normal home non business user have never presumed the lifetime upgrade option was included in any yearly program discount, as is clearly stated “when you purchase it” as per the current Black Friday sale page Quote:- “Discount cannot be used for version or Lifetime Upgrades”.

I took advantage of it, but when it said 50%, I expected of the total price.

The lifetime upgrade purchase add on “has allways been an extra purchase option” for as long as I’ve been using eM Client since V6. I’ve never seen lifetime upgrades included in the yearly program discounts like the black Friday 50% sale.

The lifetime upgrade option has also allways been available as “an extra option anytime later” if you didn’t purchase it initially via the following link. Buy lifetime upgrades | Get all updates | eM Client.

Thanks for that link. I may pursue that once I find out if I really like or loath eM Client. I absolutely want to give it a fair trial run.

Perhaps you are right, but since I’m new to eM Client I found the price to high with the Lifetime Upgrade addon ticked and was waiting for the BF sale. But just like JoeSchmuckatelli I was expecting a discount for the total price of eM Client Personal version including the Lifetime Upgrade addon when ticked the checkbox. That would be an instant buy, but now I’ve decided to continue using the Free version and have limited it to my two main accounts. I have also Thunderbird installed for the less used accounts and that works fine. But if eM Client decide to add a discount price for the Lifetime Upgrade anyway, I would purchase that in a heartbeat.

Thanks Gary, I just bought a license for emclient business, I am very comfortable using your software, Very modern and easy to use, Keep it up.
