Anyone sucessfully using emclient on Ubuntu 24.04?

After nearly 30 years of Windows use, I have finally decided to move my daily driver over to Linux

That said, and while I’m still dual booting, while acclimating to the new OS, and will likely make heavy use of virtualization to compensate for my otherwise heavy dependency on Windows apps, the one thing that keeps coming back at me is emclient - this in-spite of the impressive array of otherwise free mail clients such as; Thunderbird, Mailbird, Evolution etc, - safe to say, that none come close to the emclient - of which I consider to be best Windows mail client on Windows atm

And so while I will not bother asking for a rewrite(on Linux), I was wondering if anyone had any success running emclient on Ubuntu with Wine or Bottle etc? And moreso, if anyone had any leads on a potential page or tutorial in doing so?

From what I’ve read on the Linux Support thread so far, Crossover and Wine have been used by some users where they got it to run, but had issues with errors in the program and hanging and crashing etc. Suggest to have a read of that thread.

Maybe in the future Crossover and Wine etc can update their emulators to support eM Client.

I am using a lightweight Windows 11 inside a VM (VirtualBox). It is cumbersome, naturally, but it works.

I removed almost everything(!) from Windows and set eM Client to start in full screen when Windows starts. I don’t switch off the machine completely (just suspending it).
So, switching on the machine is almost as if you just start the software.

That’s the best I have found so far.

I am able to get the latest eM Client to install and run under Crossover (v.26.0.0), but activating the license fails. There is no error code, it just does its activation animation and then stop.

Try then Winapps where a user @rammjet successfully ran eM Client with Windows 10 in a virtual box with Linux Mint, See his post below.

I would recommend checking out this information a forum user provided for getting eM Client for Windows running on Linux:
