2 accounts but only 1 calendar

Hello,
This is my 1st intervention here, so please forgive any mistakes.
I’ve been trying out the free version of Em Client for a few days now.
I’m thinking of buying a pro license, but first I’d like to solve a calendar problem.
I have 2 accounts in the free version:
1 “Gmail” and the other is the internet service provider “Free”, but on the Free one, I don’t have the possibility to have a calendar.
I have successfully imported everything from Outlook 2021 and everything works fine except that.
I also tried to export and import. I exported this account’s calendar from Outlook in .ics format, then when it came time to import it, I selected it but only had the choice of importing it into the 1st account (Gmail), which already had its own calendar. No other option.

Could you give me an idea?
Thanks in advance.

You can enable Local Folders and use the Local Folders Calendar. It is a separate calendar on that computer only, not synced with an online server.

The option is in Menu > Settings > General > General > Show Local Folders. Click on Save & Close to save the setting.

Thanks Gary.for reply. I’ll try tomorrow morning.
But, why doesn’t each account have its own calendar?

Not all email providers have calendars. Most, like Gmail, will have email/calendar/contacts, but some only email.

Why doesn’t each account have its own calendar.

From working at major Internet companies for years, alot of ISPs now “just don’t want to get involved with Calendars” due to cost reasons like with Mail servers which require specialised staff to look after them and constant upgrades etc.

In the last few years, most ISPs in my country also now “don’t even want to do mail anymore” as they can’t afford the mailbox space, and also carn’t compete with AI Spam engine / technology used in the major global mail servers like Outlook, Gmail etc.

Thanks guys for your help.
Maybe I didn’t express my request correctly.
What I wanted to say is that I currently use Outlook (for 23 years and now version 2021) and it offers me a calendar for each account.

And I’d like to find the same thing in eM Client. Nothing else.
Have a nice day.

You can have multiple calendars. They might be included in the email account when you set it up, or added separately, and there is also the Local Folders calendar.

If you go to the Calendar section of eM Client you will see them listed on the left. Those that are ticked are displayed on the right. If you only want to see one calendar, only tick that one. If you want to see all calendars, tick them all.

Good to read that, but I can’t have multiples calendars. Why ?

Maybe, I have to purchase the Pro version ?

It is because you only have one email account installed that comes with a calendar.

You can add others, or use Local Folder calendars as I explained above.

No Gary.
I also have an email account imported from Outlook that has its own calendar but it appears in Outlook but not in eM Client.

Well, it depends on where you imported it to.

If you imported it into the Gmail calendar, then the events will be in that calendar. If you imported it into Local Folder calendars, then it will be there. I have already explained how to show Local Folder calendars, but you haven’t done that.

I haven’t done it yet because I wanted to try and have them all integrated into my 5 email accounts.
But if that’s not possible, I’ll do it via the local accounts.
And also because of a lack of time, I spend a lot of time learning this soft.

I think tomorrow or the next days, I’ll uninstall all eM and start from zero with a pro version.
Anyway, many thanks for your precious help.
Bye

Hello,
I tried with local folders but that’s not what I want.
Moreover, if the import is successful and the appointment dates are correct, the information is useless. See for yourself.

I’m disappointed.
Have a good day.

eM Client shows the event correctly for the time and time zone specified in the event, in relation to your location. If they are showing incorrectly, then your time zone, DST or time in the OS are incorrect.

I’ve checked, the dates and times are correct, but why is it marked “occupied” instead of names of people, places etc.?
“Busy” doesn’t help me if I want to go back in time, it doesn’t tell me who I was meeting on that day at that time.

That is the title of the event you imported. Open the event and you will see the title and other details.

OK, I opened it as you asked and it gives me nothing. The title says “busy” when it should show what I imported from Outlook. In this case, I’ll take the example of May 6 at 11:30 am.
RV 6 Mai Outlook.2024-07-07_112032

Yes, you can see in your screenshot that the title of the event is Occupé

So it is displayed in the calendar like that.
