10.3 stability

Hey thanks for the reply. My VPN app was not running (off most of the time), no 3rd part firewall or Anti virus etc. It crashed again just now but i didn’t realise it was still it open as I temporarily switched to Spark, i closed terminal off a couple days ago so i don’t have the fresh log to send in. I suspect its something in the background as it’s never crashed while actually using it. It accesses 2 regular gmails, 1 x 365 business email and 1 google business account, the crash could be related to how it connects to one or more of those providers. Next is to wipe the drive clean during a fresh USB clean install of MacOs Sequoia, i could do that in the coming week or two but not a priority. I do have Alfred, DefaultFolderX, Evernote, Dropbox, the new Google Drive Desktop, Discord, and SwitchResX as always running apps / services if that helps. Creative Cloud app not used for a while so that service is off for now. Also, my Mac fans started spinning as i noticed eMclient not responding, the first time the fans have ever come on! They slowed back after the Force Quit. It’s a 2023 M2 Macbook Pro with 32gig ram and 1tb storage, pre-ordered on release day.

Hmm. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend a clean install and all the hassle of getting set up again (although you obviously can if you want to give it a go!), as I suspect that won’t sort it. It could simply be a clash with something else that was installed.

I wonder if it is worth loading up in safe mode?

With regards to my own experiences, I don’t remember encountered any crashes since updating to v10.3.1720 and higher (but had lots with v10.3.1524 and v10.3.1567). I have had a couple of hangs (spinning beach ball, Force Quit the app, etc.) over the past week or two. These seem to happen when waking the laptop from sleep and then noticing eM Client is not responding. It doesn’t happen every time, though. Plenty of times I can wake from sleep and eM Client is fine.

I’m back. 3 weeks ago i did a full ERASE and re-install on My M2 Macbook Pro Sequioa 15.5.
eMclient was running great since then.
Yesterday an emClient update was pushed thru so I installed that, and BOOM, back to the Beach Ball spinning, and little spinning wheels next to each of my 4 email accounts in emClient.
So this topic is NOT solved now. I could try reverting back to the version i had.
I run the app from terminal window to get a crash log, but it doesn’t crash, it just spins for hours and the terminal window sits there as if nothing is wrong. It’s not my internet connection as all household devices that use wifi are cranking with no issues.

new update on this, unfortunately.

@Rexx

Add just one account (without the other 3) if you haven’t already tried, to see if eM Client works ok.

If it then works ok with one account , then add one more account and see what happens then.

As could be eg: one of your 4 accounts is causing it. So test them separately one at a time.

I used to be a fully satisfied (and paying) user of eM Client (on Mac), but I finally decided to abandon it. Indeed, since almost one year (mid 2024 if I remember well), this app became highly instable even after several clean installs. This problem has been mentioned a little bit everywhere, and after one year (!) eM Client hasn’t solved the issue. This is a real pity, because this app could be absolutely wonderful, if only it worked.

My config :

Apple Macbook Pro M1
Sequoia 15.6.1
eM Client 10.3.2622

I’m not sure if you want to go this route but I’m running macOS Tahoe and all freezes have been resolved. I stopped having issues with Tahoe RC and the official release is stable as well.

Thanks for the info. I’ll try.
