10.2 Beta on macOS seems unstable

Hi,
I’m running the beta on my macbook and have a lot of crashes and seem to have a memory leak. Can I get a link for the macos version of 10.2.1736 or newer build if it’s available. The only macos beta I can find is the one on the releases page for 10.2.1712 but have seen links to newer Windows builds in the forum.

I’m running the beta on my macbook and have a lot of crashes and seem to have a memory leak.

That version 10.2.1712 for me personally is rock steady for me using an M1 CPU on Mac OS 15.4 .

What CPU and Mac OS version do you have ?
Also have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling ?

and seem to have a memory leak.

How much memory is eM Client using ?

Can I get a link for the macos version of 10.2.1736 or newer build if it’s available

From reading the latest eM Client threads, eM Client version 10.3 is not far away, so keep watching the release history page for the next “official update”.

I’m not aware of any unofficial release page 10.2.1736 or 10.3 Mac version links.

Thanks for replying. I’m using an M1 Max on my macbook pro and a M2 on my macbook air both just recently updated to 15.4. Normally it uses around 1-2gb but have seen instances when it has to be force quit due to it not responding and using around 25gb.

Do you have the stable release of macOS 15.4? In beta versions of 15.4 there was a bug in webview that was causing eM Client crashing. In the latest stable 15.4 this should already be fixed by Apple.

Hi, I have the stable release of 15.4. I got to work this morning and the app was froze on my macbook. I took a screenshot of the memory usage. I saw a mentioned of search folders causing issues in the forums and I do use search folders. I don’t recall for sure but I believe that was with the 10.2 beta as well.

This evening, I’ve installed 10.3.1503 (eb0592f) on a machine I use when travelling (M2 MacBook Air, 8 GB RAM, macOS 15.4 - release version). I’ve experienced two crashes.

One was where I moused over the Calendar icon in the bottom left (left hand pane of window), possibly while today’s Calendar was open at the other end of the window, in the right hand pane. I’ve not been able to reproduce this.

The second crash was when I moused over an attachment to preview it and see the options. Similarly, I’ve tried this again and not reproduced this crash either.

If useful for staff here, I could potentially dig out the Crash Reports via the Console.

A quick question: should I be seeing a notification about the availability of eM Client 10.3 when I first run the older version (10.1)? Earlier, it was saying there were no updates available, so I manually downloaded and installed the latest release.

Hi,
the log could help. Unfortunately, without developer tools installed, there’s usually not enough infornation in it, since it’s not symbolicated. But why not to try it?

As of the new version availability notification: There’s some policy behind it - sure you’ll get the notification, but they’re spread in time and space to avoid bandwidth and other issues.

Ahhh, that makes sense. Thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

I was keeping a sharp lookout for 10.2/10.3 because I wanted to wait to move my main machine over to eM Client, importing all my Postbox files. I pounced as soon as I knew 10.3 was out and maybe I would have received a notification later on if more patient.
