Zarafa Contacts and Calendar setup in eM Client?

I’ve dumped Microsoft Exchange for Zarafa.  I have it running on everything now except eM Client.  I can connect the email with IMAP just fine, but can’t figure out how to connect the address book and calendar.  I keep reading eM Client doesn’t support Active-Sync.  Does anyone know how to get the Zarafa contacts/calendar connected?  Thanks for the help.

Ok, so I jumped the gun a little.  calDAV was actually quite easy to set up so now I have IMAP + calDAV running against Zarafa.  They only thing I still have unresolved is getting access to the contacts.  Zarafa doesn’t support cardDAV out of the box, so I’m not sure if I have anything else I can use from the client end.  Any insight is appreciated.

Hi Phil, unfortunately eM Client only supports ActiveSync for Outlook.com, Hotmail and Live accounts, however as you found out yourself you can connect this account using IMAP and CalDAV/CardDAV services.
If your server does not support CardDAV you might be able to setup a synchronization with one of the other available services, such as Google Contacts, Fruux or iCloud.

Unfortunately there’s no other option how to synchronize your contacts with Zarafa.

Hope this helps,
Paul.

That’s not what I wanted to hear, but I appreciate the info nonetheless.  The entire purpose of the “family cloud” we run is to get away from public clouds, so that makes the sync options non starters.  There are some hacks to Zarafa to give it cardDAV support, but I was hoping to avoid them.  It’ll be nice when these email protocol wars are finally over.

You have a GREAT product in eM Client.  If I can get Zarafa to work with cardDAV the several family members are exited about it.  Thanks for the hard work and the response.

Phil
