I am new to eM client on a paid license. I have 10 functioning accounts in eM and 1 non-functioning (Yahoo). To set up the Yahoo account, I used the Automatic setup function. eM Client sent me to the browser where I entered my Yahoo address and password, and was then asked to Allow eM to handle email, calendar, contacts, etc. I clicked Allow. I then got a second box asking for permission for eM client and I clicked Always Allow. So the auto setup seemed to work exactly as it was supposed to.
In eM I have a red triangle next to Yahoo. My custom folder structure has been downloaded from Yahoo, so I know eM connected. Plus I got the message that “Your Yahoo account xxxxxxxxxxx was used to sign in to a new third party application on eM Client.” However eM hasn’t downloaded any email and I have the red triangle. There are no errors in the logs, and in the Operations Log shows “4:44:34 PM Yahoo [IMAP] MailClient.Accounts.ConnectionException: Synchronizing folder ‘Yahoo/Inbox’ failed due to the following error: Lost connection with server”
IMAP is on 993 using SSL on the legacy port. SMTP is on 465 using SSL on the legacy port.
I have repeated this process multiple times, deleting the non-functional Yahoo account from eM, quitting eM, going into Yahoo and removing the permission for eM from the Connected Devices list, logging the browser out of Yahoo, and then starting all over again. I have also forced eM to use “these credentials” vs. the standard credentials. I tried “these credentials” with my normal Yahoo password and also with an App Password I set up for eM client via the Yahoo web interface. I’ve tried Forcing SSL and also using SSL if available. I’ve tried the automatic setup with 4 different browsers, all of which had been logged out of Yahoo mail before the attempt.
No joy on anything I’ve tried. I believe I’ve read every post dealing with Yahoo mail in these forums from the past year, tried the suggestions, and am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
