I am planning to move some folders from my existing Yahoo Mail account due to storage limitation to another one with more storage.
What is the best and most reliable way to do it all - keeping in mind the attachements and the total number of emails (some 10K). The only idea I currently have is to use POP3 settings for the smaller account and IMAP for the bigger one. Never used eM Client so far.

Three ways
1). Add both accounts into eM Client via “Menu / Accounts”. Then create the folders you want on the new account and then just “drag / move the email” from one account to the other account.
After you have dragged the email “it might take time to show in your new account” depending on the speed of your internet upload and size of your messages. You can see the progress of the transfer / upload in “Show Operations” via clicking the dropdown on the right of Refresh top left.
2). Alternatively after adding in both accounts via “Menu / Accounts”, you could “next create temporary folders” down in eM Client “Local Folders” at the bottom left for your first account messages, and then drag / move your first account messages down into those folders. Then drag those messages from Local Folders to your new account same or other mail folders.
You can enable Local folders on V10 via “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / General / Folders”
3). Lastly after adding both accounts via “Menu / Accounts”, you could also go to “Menu / File / Export” and select “Export emails to .eml files” and then “choose your first account mail folders” and export those to a folder on your hard-disk. Then go back to “Menu / File / Import” and choose “Email .eml” and select your exported email and select your second mail account to import them.
Just did as per your 1) … getting confused after receiving a couple of error messages.
What I actually did: copied all the emails from Yahoo using IMAP to eM Client - say 10 folders + Inbox and Sent. Then tried to move a folder from account A to account B. No success.
What is the right way to do it - step by step?
Folder names: for account: B do I need to create an empty folder with the same name first and then move the source folder from account A directly to the empty folder - or to account B name only and the new folder will be created automatically?
Or the source and destination folder names are to be different? Other mistakes I probably made or/and things I do not understand?

Doesn’t matter what destination folder you create. Can be the same name or different as you are just moving messages between account folders.
The destination folder also doesn’t have to be empty. If the destination account folder already has messages, moved new messages will just add to the existing destination folder messages.
You could also eg: drag / move your first account folder with existing messages directly onto your second account which will then save you first creating the folder on the destination if you want to keep the messages in the same folder.
As per I mentioned above, after you move the messages, it might take a little time till it appears as it has to upload the message from your first account folder to your second account folder. So after moving click Refresh / Show Operations in the dropdown to see when that’s completed.
