eM Client has 2 licensing options, FREE license for home use, PRO license for work/commercial use.
Unless you break the license policy, your FREE license will never expire but be renewed automatically.
Either way, you need to activate your license key in Help>License section.

Won’t that affect other getsatisfaction forums where I’m registered? Isn’t there a getsatisfaction option (or an emclient option) to un-register from emclient forum?

the whole forum is provided to us by GetSatisfaction, I believe that unchecking the eM Client options should be enough, but from experience some users keep getting forum notifications even after unsubscribing.
If you use your GetSatisfaction profile for other forums and need the notifications, this solution is of course not gonna work for you.
In that case I can only suggest contacting GetSatisfaction directly and asking to have this solved.
I can monitor the threads here, but I cannot make changes to any user profiles.
