Will not connect to Synology MailPlus

Hello,
I am new to eM Client and am trying to set it up using a combination of external accounts and accounts on my local Synology running MailPlus and MailPlus Server. I POP messages from my ISP to my Synology and then use IMAP from my desktop to the Synology. This has worked great for years with Thunderbird. However, eM Client will not connect, saying Authentication has been aborted. In addition, I repeatedly get a dialog asking for my password, even is I check the “save password” checkbox before entering the password.

Has anyone any experience using eM Client with MailPlus?

What’s your IMAP Server address, Port and Security Protocol in eM Client ?

Also do you have two factor enabled on your Server, or an app password on your Server ?

Lastly did you setup eM Client via the automatic email wizard or do a manual IMAP setup ?
