Why mail_data does not reduce size after email cleanup?

Hi, i’m using emClient for some years and i’m super happy. To save storage space, i deleted few GB of emails, but i notice that the mail_data.dat file does not reduce size. What could be wrong? I also cleared trash bin etc. Thanks in advance!

Close eM Client then run C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\DbRepair.exe. See if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the suggestion! Did that twice, which completed without reporting any problem, but still nothing changed. Mail_Data file size is still the same. Any ideas are welcome!

One option is to backup eM Client using Menu > File > Backup, then close eM Client and delete the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\eM Client folder.

Restart eM Client and restore using Menu > File > Restore. See if that helps.

BTW, the mail_data is 147GB…

Did this work? I would dearly love to reduce the size of my database. When the program crashes it takes 2 hours to do the “corrupted database” check…
