Why do new tasks' reminders default to one minute after their start times?

If I create a new task and enable a reminder, the reminder’s time is set to one minute after the start time. This seems strange and unintuitive.

Why does the program function in this way? Has anyone actually thought about this? How could it be useful for it to be one minute after the start?

I will discuss it with our developers - what would be the most suitable default time for this reminder? 15 minutes before its overdue?

I’m not really sure about what other people would prefer, but I think something like this would suit me:
-If the task has a start, set the default reminder to 15 minutes before it starts.
-Otherwise, if the task has a due date and time, set the default reminder to 15 minutes before it’s due.

It would be good to get other people’s opinions about this.
