it depends on how your account is setup. Sometimes the Outbox is in local folders, sometimes like Exchange it is in the account folders.
If you are not using Exchange, and can’t see the local folders, you can enable them in Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Show local folders.
Check if your messages are there.
