When attempting to set up a new gmail account in emclient, it asks me to login to my gmail account & then it wants permission to delete all my gmail emails from gmail as it downloads them to emclient.
I do NOT want that.
Is there a way to turn that off?
That is kind of a stupid way of setting up an account.
Maybe you need to re-read that permission request.
Yes that Gmail / Google permission request allow window is just saying that you are giving eM Client access to be able to eg: Delete email, Contacts, Calendar events etc if you choose by clicking “Allow”. It doesn’t mean eM Client is going to automatic delete email etc when the account is setup.
All email clients will normally get asked to allow access when adding a Gmail account.
