when clicking send an email where is it stored until sent?

When I click send an email where is it stored until sent. i can not find it in outbox or sent box.
Until i do send in refresh it then shows in sent.

It’s saved in “Drafts”. Look at Menu > Tools > Accounts > IMAP > Special Folders to see where you have designated where Drafts are stored.

That’s what I would have assumed, but no I have checked.
Would it be some thing to do with how often emails are backed up to draft. I probably send before its backed up.

I still cannot find the email until it is in the sent box. If I close down emc before sending it tell me it is in the outbox, but it is not showing there.
Can anybody help please?

Hello Brian,

When you click “Send” on a message, it first goes to a local Outbox. After it is successfully sent, it moves to the Sent folder. If you can’t see your local Outbox, it could be because the Local Folders are not being shown. Please go to Menu -> Tools ->Settings -> General -> General and make sure the “Show Local folders” option is checked.

Many thanks it works.
I had an outbox showing in hotmail and it must have picked that one up

Hello Brian,

Hotmail has its own outbox which it uses e.g. when you send an e-mail through webmail. eM Client however uses the local one. Glad to hear you can see the outgoing e-mails now.

Thanks for you help

I have the same issue. It says it’s in Outbox after clicking Send, and can remain there for a very long time before eventually appearing in Sent. I have always had  “Show Local Folders” checked as suggested above, but no “Outbox” folder appears in eM Client. I have tried closing eM Client against it’s advice, and message always seems to have been sent ok by the next time I open eM Client. Just annoying that I can’t see it actually in an Outbox !!! How do I make an Outbox folder appear in eM Client?

There is one setting in Menu > Tools > Settings > Mail > Send , that could be why the message is not being sent immediately.

Make sure Send messages immediately is selected.

If the Outbox is not visible in Local Folders, right-click on Local Folders and choose Show/hide folders. Then make sure Outbox is selected to Show.

Thanks Gary, I did that and will await next occurance to see how well that works.
