What are OpenAI's Privacy rules on the AI provided by EM Client?

I see EM Client is currently using ChatGPT from OpenAI and want to know what Privacy conditions exist for users.

With a direct OpenAI account I can stop the sharing of my data with the wider OpenAI community but as I don’t have to put my OpenAI license into EM Client I don’t know how OpenAI is using my data.

Can you elaborate please.

I clearly don’t want the world reading my AI enhanced emails.

The below eM Client AI Blog extract below might help you with that question on AI data sharing.

eM Client’s AI Features

Quotes below from the above link:-

“eM Client never sends text or queries to the server without explicit user action as described using the Reply with AI or AI buttons. It will never collect and send content of your messages anywhere on its own”

“The information used for the text generation or editing is sent only to the AI provider and is not stored or logged by eM Client anywhere. We will always do our best to protect your data and privacy as much as possible”

Sure. That refers to EM Client own rules though.

My question is about how “OpenAI” processes our data.

Their public privacy rules state:

"This Privacy Policy does not apply to content that we process on behalf of customers of our business offerings, such as our API. Our use of that data is governed by our customer agreements covering access to and use of those offerings.

But what are those rules?

question is about how “OpenAI” processes our data.

I presume then you would need to ask OpenAI / ChatGPT that question, as it’s their AI engine that eM Client currently uses. I’d send them an email.

Apart from contacting OpenAI you can also email [email protected] for queries / info.

Or we ask the business provider (EM client) about their customer agreement with OpenAI.

Based on our own agreement with OpenAI, the data and prompts from our users are NOT used for the model training or stored by OpenAI, you should be safe with the privacy even if you use AI with eM Client.
