Verizon issues

Is anyone else here having issues with the receiving end of emclient with verizon.net emails? I’ve gone days without emails from verizon.net and then it magically starts working again. I know the account itself is good because I’ve confirmed it on the aol.com side plus I use outlook as my failsafe.

I’ve gone days without emails from verizon.net and then it magically starts working again.

If you haven’t changes any settings in eM Client and it just suddenly starts receiving mail, that usually relates to either “mail server issues” or “the connections between you and the mail server” or “possibly a background resident program” randomly blocking the mail client.

Now from searching “this forum and other mail client forums” this same thing has happened to many Verizon / AOL users for many years. So I suspect it’s Verizon / AOL mail server issues.

So first thing is contact your Verizon / AOL mail server technical support and tell them what’s been happening as they can then check their end. Let them know “the exact times and dates” you carn’t connect so they can check their mail server logs. Also ask them if they have changed any Mail server settings recently incase they have.

If they say their mail server end is ok and they haven’t changed any Mail server settings in eM Client, then you would next “contact your internet provider technical support” and let them know you sometimes cannot connect and receive emails from Verizon / AOL, so they can also check if there is a eg: routing problem to the Verizon / AOL mail server. That can sometimes happen.

Then if your internet provider says there is no connection problems to Verizon / AOL their end "but you can connect ok with other mail clients such a Outlook as your failsafe backup as you advised ", then could be you might possibly have a eg: “background program in resident memory” interfering with eM Client randomly blocking it.

So if you have any eg: optionally installed Firewall / Security programs or optionally installed Antivirus programs or VPNs installed" other than what comes default with your OS", then try completely disabling those to test incase of interference.

Lastly when this happens again, also try “completely powering off your computer and modem / router” etc for eg: two minutes and then power everything back on “incase you have a Wan IP address or DNS problem”.

If then powering of your computer and modem makes no difference, then you can also click the drop-down on the right of Refresh top left and click “Show Operations” and click the “Log tab” and look for any obvious error messages and paste them in this thread. We might then possibly be able to see what’s wrong.

Note:- If you do paste any obvious error messages, blank out anything personal.

It actually magically started working again and I did nothing. Go figure! Appreciate the response though!
