V10 Not working

Have been an eM user for about 10 years or more. eM has not been working correctly for about 2 1/2 weeks on desktop Windows 11 even though it is the designated Mail app. Tried to change the backup to a previous documents folder, then could not get in at all. Got the error box. Yesterday uninstalled and reinstalled, but the license activation place is not in the pull down menu. Tried to get into settings to make sure that it is set as the default and settings kept crashing. Tried to run the repair, which completed, but errors were still happening as described. Then uninstalled and could not reinstall, Windows is saying the location is wrong. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don’t know if you are referring to the database storage location or the program location itself.

if you are referring to the database location, the default database location for eM Client in Windows is the following place.

(Windows hidden eM Client database folder)
“Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\eM Client”

if you are referring to the Program installation, its located in the following place.

“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client”

So suggest as you carn’t install eM Client V10, to uninstall eM Client and “dont delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard.

Then if the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client still exists after the uninstall , delete it manually.

Next go to the hidden database folder Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\eM Client and “rename it” to eg: eM Client-Old. Then reboot your computer and try reinstalling V10 again.

If you can then get eM Client installed ok, then either setup as new, Or if you have a recent backup.zip that was working ok then “skip the setup wizard” and restore your backup via “Menu / File / Restore”.
