V10.1.4588 How can I disable the message view’s circular icon which is at the top of the display, and which is apparently an attempt to indicate the From/Sender? “P” here
Having the senders email Avatar showing by default “is a quick visual way” to see specific senders in a list of emails. Lots of mail clients enable that now if the sender uses one.
However if you don’t want to see the senders email Avatar, then see the following thread for options on how to remove it. V9 & V10 senders Avatar remove options are the same.
Thanks but my question is not about the avatar. It is about the circular icon at message view top left, whether there’s an avatar or not.
Thanks but as other users point out there, removing the avatar does not remove the icon.
As per my post “in that thread further down the page”, if you don’t want to see the Avatar (circular icon as you described it) in the Subject, then you can “disable the column from view” as in the below last paragraph extract from the eM Support page.
"Right-click the top of the message list and open Columns configuration. Select the Avatar from the “Show these columns” list on the right and then click the Remove button, which will move it to the list on the left, “Available columns”.
Also “as per my post in that thread” near the bottom, (as far as i’m aware), you can only completely remove the senders Avatar from the “Subject” column in eM Client, but “not from the Main Body of the email” as (that is normally controlled by the Sender who creates the email) like in eg: the below Amazon received email in Gmail.com online, where the senders Avatar “doesn’t show in the Subject column”, but “does show in the Main Body of the email”.
Also See Microsofts example received email in Outlook.com where there is no Avatar in the Subject, but there is a Mongram with a W in it “in the Body of the email”.
So the senders email normally controls whether you see that Avatar in the body of the email.

Thanks, but that has no effect on the message view icon that is this subject of this question.
Thanks So the answer is “You can’t”.
No, whether this icon is shows by eM Client is not controlled by the sender. Plus I get it on emails created by client programs that have no option to control it.
