If the email is going into the wrong Gmail Category tab, then you can either just “drag it back to the Primary” tab or “right click on the email and select the primary category”. Whichever way you do it, you will get a popup dialogue box confirming that for future messages from that sender. eM Client will then create a rule to permanently put that message in the Primary tab for future.

Or alternatively if you don’t want a Category or any Categories, then you can “right click in a blank space” on the right of a category and disable any category or categories you don’t want.

Is happening with all incoming messages. Just have to work around it. Version emclient-v10.0.3125 is it possible for me to go back to that.

Ok I personally are receiving all my Gmail IMAP and all other acct incoming emails ok, so carnt fault the new v10.0.3266, so i suspect it’s just a setup / configuration problem.

So if you have tested already “by disabling all Categories” so everything goes in Primary folder, then next check in “eM Client Rules via the menu” that you have no rules setup to automatically move Gmail account messages to other folders etc. Even try disabling all rules in there to test.

If that still doesn’t work, I would personally next suggest to try removing and readding your Gmail IMAP account if you haven’t already via the automatic account wizard and see if that fixes it.

Failing that if you have only all IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud (Non POP accounts) and nothing in Local folders, remove all accounts and uninstall and delete the database & setup new.

is it possible for me to go back to that.

Yes if you still have the previous v10.0.3125 in your download folder, you can go back to the prior version to test that. That version has been removed from the eM Client release history page.

However version v10.0.3125 might still be on the official download page. So if you don’t have the older setup file still in your download folder, try this link.

So if you do have it or it is available still in that official download link, (as it’s an older different database version), first make a backup of your current version via “Menu / Backup”.

Note:- you can see when the backup is complete in “Show Operations” via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh top left.

Then once backed up, close eM Client and uninstall it, and if you have Windows “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard.

Then go to the following hidden database folder and rename it to eg: eM Client-Old.

“Hidden mail database folder Windows”

“Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\eM Client”

“Hidden mail database folder Mac”

“Users\yourusername\Library\Application Support\eM Client”

Once you have renamed the database, then reinstall the older v10.0.3125 if you have it and setup only your Gmail account as a test. Then if that works, setup your other accounts.

If all your accounts then are receiving ok including Gmail with the old version, then make a new backup. Then try upgrading again to v10.0.3266.

Really appreciate all the advise. Doing disable catagory, that fixed the problem. This is great email client, so always going to be a glitch if new upgrade is done. Keep up the great work. Can’t wait for the android version for tasks etc.

We don’t create category Rules for Gmail accounts. If you drag a message, eM Client will move the message to the other category through the API, but it is up to the Google server backend what they do with that.

Otherwise for Gmail accounts, we display whatever category the server says the message is in, so exactly as you see it in webmail.
