Utilizing the Side Bar

I want to utilize the side bar on the right.
I only want Tasks and Events to display there.
How might i accomplish this?

The Agenda sidebar shows both events and tasks. You can select it from the icons at the bottom of the sidebar:

Then you can select what to display using the settings cog.
